FUNDarte’s 2020-21 Season opens on Sunday, October 11th, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. with the 6th edition of our International Festival of The Arts for Youth and Children, “ZunZún Children’s Fest” featuring a virtual presentation and book launch of Color Caribe, a downloadable songbook illustrated by renowned Hispanics and Caribbean artists, and the premiere of three digital workshops for children. Our social networks are gearing up to present this new virtual edition of ZunZún Children’s Fest 2020, a project that includes the participation of some thirty artists from Spain Latin America, and the Caribbean. The ZunZún Children’s Festival activities begin on Sunday, October 11, at 11:00 a.m. (EDT), with the digital launch of the book Color Caribe, in downloadable pdf format, available on our website: A digital video presentation of the book has also been created, which may be viewed live on FUNDarte’s YouTube channel. The project is a collaboration between a large group of prominent artists, including musicians Lucky Díaz (Los Angeles); Lucy Kalantari (New York); 123Andrés (Washington, DC); Jesse Bisceglia (Upstate, NY); Eddy Díaz (Miami); Hector Pepo Herrera (Miami); María del Sol Peralta (Bogotá); Zulema de Prado (Málaga); Aldo Méndez (Ciudad Real, Spain); Inez Barlatier (Miami); Carlos Cano (Madrid); Jordi Tonietti (Barcelona); Manuel Moran (New York); Pavel Urkiza (Miami); and Rita Rosa Ruesga (Miami). The Color Caribe illustration is a work by the artists Soledad Sebastián (Santiago de Chile); Claudia Navarro (Mexico City); Jorge Luis Mendoza (Miami); Valerio (Nevia, Colombia); Omar Santana (New Jersey), and Marcos Menéndez (Miami). After the presentation of the songbook, three digital workshops for children will be released, by the illustrator Soledad Sebastián (Santiago de Chile), the writer Sergio Andricaín (Miami), and the illustrator Valerio (Nevia, Colombia). ZunZún Children’s Fest celebrates Latino/Hispanic heritage with cultural programming for families and youth that includes an array of bilingual projects created by local and international Latino/Latina artists, that encourage an appreciation for the culture and the values of Latin America and its descendants.
